Online booking for courses and subspecialty days
Put together your own personal congress program in advance:
As of now, courses, wetlabs and subspecialty days taking place within the framework of WOC® 2010 can be booked online. Whether it be diabetic retinopathy,
corneal diseases or AMD, the course program reflects the diversity of ophthalmology in diagnostics and therapy. The subspecialty days on 6 and 7 June, 2010
provide the opportunity to discuss in depth new research approaches in the areas of cataract, retina, glaucoma, refractive surgery and paediatric ophthalmology.
You can book courses and subspecialty days online here.
The early bird deadline for booking these events is 10 May, 2010. After this date, course fees will automatically increase.
By train or plane: Special offers for congress visitors
Should I fly or take the train to WOC® 2010? Either way, there are some attractive special offers awaiting you. Registered congress visitors who fly with a Star Alliance™ member airline will receive a discount of up to 20 percent. This offer is also valid for one accompanying person. You will find detailed information here. In addition, we are offering special conditions for travel by rail to the World Ophthalmology Congress in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn AG (German Federal Railways). Further information is available here. Please don’t forget to organise hotel accommodation in time too. Hotel rooms in various categories can be reserved here via the Hotel Reservation Service (HRS).
Berlin, Berlin: In search of a divided city
Besides science and advanced training courses, WOC®2010 would also like to introduce its visitors to one of the most exciting cities in Europe. 20 years on from reunification much has changed in Berlin. This city’s diverse history, however, is still perceptible. Many places recall the former division of the city. One such place is the “East Side Gallery” situated between Ostbahnhof and Oberbaumbrücke. 1.3 km in length, the longest remaining section of the Berlin Wall has been painted by artists and is thus both a memorial and an open-air gallery. For those congress attendees interested in history, a visit to the Museum House at Checkpoint Charlie is highly recommended. Checkpoint Charlie was one of the most well-known border crossing points in Berlin connecting the Soviet and the US American sectors.
